Description

The immersion heater light idea came about by equal parts design and happy accident.  The top cove (shade) has been constructed by chopping the top section away from the boiler and the copper coil is the heating element contained within the centre of this typical everyday household water heater.

The distressing has been created using silver and lead solder, flux and a copper patina process that incorporates the use of ammonia, crushed salt and baking soda.

The soft light emanates from a 150mm diameter Edison type light bulb.

This light is big.  It measures nearly 600mm in diameter x 550mm deep.

It will need strong fixings into a roofing joist or similar support to ensure safety.
